No more night closures
THE last of the full night closures of the Kurada Range road has ended with the final works last night.
A Department of Transport and Main Roads spokeswoman said following the works, the road would remain single lane at various locations until further projects for long-term solutions could be carried out.
“The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is planning for these long-term solutions and is prioritising the design, relevant approvals and preparation of suitable construction methods for these works,” she said..
“The current works have also been designed to assist in the constructability of the long-term works.
“The start date of the long-term works is likely to be several months away.
“Once a program of works is finalised, TMR will advise the community of the expected construction timeframes and traffic arrangements for the works.”
The recovery works are jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments through Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
